Systembolaget’s Approach to Sharing and Using PCF Data
Systembolaget collects Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data via the CarbonCloud platform. Initially, PCF values—calculated from default data or a mix of default and primary data—are used internally for:
- Simulations and exploratory analyses to understand emission patterns and data quality.
- Developing quality assurance processes and methodologies.
- Aggregated sustainability reporting once data has passed defined quality checks.
Detailed activity data (e.g., site-specific inputs) remains confidential and is not accessible to Systembolaget unless explicitly shared.
External or strategic use—such as assortment steering, incentives, or public communication—will only occur after:
- Clear governance, rules, and data quality processes are established.
- Suppliers have had time to review and update their data.
Until these conditions are met, insights remain preliminary and will not influence decisions or external communication.
