The 2026 PCF Ranking Simulation
Systembolaget's PCF journey is entering its simulation phase. This will give us an opportunity to evaluate all reported primary data and test the ranking method thoroughly. Whether you are new to PCF or have been gathering and reporting for some time, this phase will bring important learnings and insights. It will also ensure that the ranking model works as intended in practice, provides accurate results, is robust and reliable.
Reporting primary data and particpating in the simulation is optional. If you have not begun reporting primary data but would like to participate in our simulation, it's not too late. Please plan to submit data for the article(s) you would like to include in the simulation no later than September 21, 2026.
Key details about participation in the ranking simulation:
-
The first Quality Assurance review of all reported PCF data is now underway.
-
If you have not reported primary data but want to include article(s) in the simulation, please report no later than September 21 to take part in the second Quality Assurance review.
-
In the ranking simulation, primary data is only used if it lowers (improves) the PCF; otherwise, default data values are used. In other words, reporting primary data can not worsen an article's simulated PCF.
-
There is no fixed minimum threshold for how much primary data must be reported. Instead, the share of primary data is evaluated as part of the Quality Assurance review (round one or two). All primary data accepted in round one or two of the Quality Assurance review will be included in the ranking simulation.
We aim to ensure a thorough, consistent, and carefully controlled quality assurance process and framework. This is essential for building a ranking system that is reliable and beneficial for everyone involved over time.
